Julie graduated with her Master of Science in OT from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002 after attending Truman State University in Missouri where she earned a BS in Health Science with minors in Biology & Psychology. Prior to moving to St. Croix in 2008, she developed the OT program for a school district in southern California and was part of the early childhood special education team at an integrated preschool in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. In St. Croix, Julie worked with the Department of Education, Seaview Home Healthcare, and DOH Infants & Toddlers Program before branching out to offer private OT services in collaboration with Island Therapy Solutions. She has expertise in treating clients with a variety of conditions, including neurological disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, premature birth, genetic conditions, Down Syndrome, oral motor & feeding concerns, coordination disorders, sensory processing difficulties, and developmental delays. Julie uses a family-centered approach to help children reach their potential for participating in activities at home and school and loves sharing resources about ways to incorporate occupational therapy techniques into daily routines.
