Vernisha was born and raised on St. Thomas. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from Andrews University, along with a minor in Public Health. She has experience working with children from preschool through middle school in both school and clinic settings, supporting a wide range of communication needs including autism, ADHD, speech sound production errors, fluency disorders, expressive/receptive language disorders, and social communication disorders.

Vernisha first joined JS Therapies in 2021 for observation hours and it sparked her interest in a career in speech language therapy. She loves helping children find their voice and is passionate about advocating for each child’s unique needs. Blending her love of education and healthcare, she is proud to inspire other Virgin Islanders to dream big and pursue careers in this profession.
